Our next Committed cohort starts November 2nd.
"Every piece of work I've landed has come through my network."
A community of...
Working for big names like...
Building a career in female and sexual health can feel like...
Finding it easier to explain the menstrual cycle in detail than navigate the phases of your own career.
- Being ghosted after sending proposals so often that Hinge rejections don’t feel quite so personal anymore.
Preferring to explain STI screenings to your dad rather than re-introduce yourself on LinkedIn.
- Happily talking about cervical mucus while the words, “So… what’s your day rate?” make you sweat.
Was that a chuckle I heard👀? Oooohhh, then you're in the right place.

WHAT OUR MEMBERS ARE SAYING
“Elsie makes me feel like I'm never truly alone trying to figure something out in this space. There's so many times we hit a wall, we need feedback, we need an expert, and my first thought is to post in Elsie. Even while we're bootstrapping our company, I still pay for my Elsie membership because I know it brings direct value.”
Jenna (NYC)
"I only knew one person working in female health before. That completely changed after I joined."
Agustina (Uruguay)
“Belonging to Elsie has supported a massive shift for me. Seeing everyone's success gave me the exact inspiration and confidence I needed to finalize my business plan, design my website, and ultimately go 'all in' to launch my own consulting business. On top of that, having Emma as a mentor and advisor has been invaluable. She is incredibly well-connected and always looking for ways to open doors for others, and I am so grateful for the impact both she and this community have had on my journey.”
Jordan (Brooklyn)
“Elsie is different from other communities because it's more authentic: people are comfortable sharing their challenges and hiccups without appearing 'unprofessional', and other members show up to offer help and support.”
Caitlyn (Denver)
“A job search in this economy in sexual health and public health is not for the weak. I'm so grateful for the new connections I've made and opportunities shared through Elsie. The weekly check-ins saved my sanity, made the days pass a little easier and ultimately helped lead me to my current role.”
Brenna (West Virginia)
“A fellow Elsie member spotted a freelance opportunity on LinkedIn for a charity and encouraged me to apply. It's something I would have completely missed otherwise. It turned into such a rewarding project, creating the logo and brand identity for a new youth development programme focused on improving young people's access to sexual health information and support. It's a cause I care deeply about, so I'm incredibly grateful they thought of me.”
Evie (Brighton)
Being amazing at your work doesn't mean you know how to sell it.
Many Elsie members have spent years perfecting their craft without ever being taught how to promote it.
What's included
- ✓Monthly live workshops from sector professionals
- ✓On-demand recording library for asynchronous learning
- ✓A suite of bespoke tools and resources
What our members are saying
“I joined 20 incredible people in femtech for an Elsie journaling session. It felt so empowering and grounding. If you're looking for a thoughtful, global community of people in femtech, I can't recommend Elsie enough. The people here are kind, sharp, supportive, and real. I'm already looking forward to the next workshop.”
Nataliia (Chile)
"The workshops are well curated and consistently useful, and I love that you can watch them back in the library in your own time."
Steph (Bristol)
“An Elsie member ran a workshop and I reached out to say how much I enjoyed it. She ended up connecting me with a podcast host in California, where I spoke about sex in a postpartum body.”
Seetal (Berlin)

What our members are saying
“I first came across Elsie when Emma shared a volunteer opportunity with a sexual health charity in Glasgow (run by an Elsie member!). I never would have found the charity on my own, and it came at the perfect time as I transition into FemTech! I became an Elsie member afterwards, and it's helped me continue discovering new organisations, opportunities and people as I find my place in the sector.”
Hannah (Wales)
“I found a mentorship opportunity on Elsie's roundup to speak to young women who are just getting out of university. I never would have heard about the organisation or opportunity on my own. I ended up meeting some really cool young women through the process and am glad I did.”
Elsa (Edinburgh)

We're proud to be a Scotland-based business named after Elsie Inglis, the Scottish doctor, surgeon and suffragist who opened a maternity hospital in Edinburgh staffed entirely by women. During the First World War, she was told to “go home and sit still” by the British War Office. Instead, she organised all-female ambulance units throughout Europe. Learn more about Elsie here.
Hi, I'm Emma
I moved from Chicago to Edinburgh alone at 22, knowing no one. Five months later, the pandemic hit.
From the age of 23, entirely self-taught, I built a portfolio of 10+ brands across period care, menopause, gut health, sexual wellness, fertility and more. Every single one came through relationships (and ZERO applications).
Elsie is the result of everything that worked for me and everything that didn’t, built so more people in this space can connect and drive change together.

"I would never have found this role without Elsie's community."
Elsie has been the one place where I feel surrounded by people who understand the challenges of this work, and who are actively pushing the industry forward with care, creativity and purpose.
Through Elsie, I discovered a freelance opportunity with Sibyl, a startup supporting women through pregnancy loss. It aligns deeply with my own values around inclusive, compassionate innovation in sexuality and health.
Every Elsie event I attend leaves me re-energised about why this work matters. Being part of Elsie has helped me grow professionally while feeling connected to something bigger.

Amari, based in London, and Maria, based in Seville, met through Elsie. Amari spotted "shadow ban slayer" in Maria's Instagram bio and immediately knew they needed to connect.
They ran their first workshop on shadow banning and censorship for Elsie as a trial run, and have since delivered it for five other organisations, three of which were paid. The workshops have also led to paying clients for both of them.
Nearly two years later, they're still delivering workshops together, despite never having met in person.
"I found my current role through the Elsie platform, and I'm so grateful I did."
It's such a valuable space for sexual and reproductive health professionals. Supportive, well-curated, and full of genuine opportunities to make impact.
Emma's energy and professionalism are making a noticeable difference across the sector. Elsie has become a real connector for purpose-driven work in this field.

Two Elsie members met by chance at an event. Months later, they worked together across six schools, turning children’s drawings into research.
Hazel, a London-based illustrator, and Tris, a Reading-based researcher, happened to sit beside each other at Elsie's London event. A few months later Tris was given budget to hire an illustrator, and one name immediately came to mind.
Together they built a project funded by Wellbeing of Women & Reckitt. Hazel travelled with Tris to six schools across the UK, running hands-on workshops where students used paper and markers to respond to prompts on menstrual stigma, confidence, and school policies.
Those drawings and writings became real data for the research, and Hazel turned them into illustrations that were gifted back to the schools.
The work has since been presented at the Menstrual Research Network conference at the University of Sussex, Brighton and Sussex Medical School.

Emma met Hazel at an event in Cardiff and invited her to Elsie's next event.

There, Emma introduced Hazel to Tris.
They started going to events together, like this book launch.
When Tris later needed an illustrator, Hazel was top of mind.

Together, they created magic!

How they felt about it.
"We are beyond proud of how these turned out, and cannot wait to see the next three! Huge thank you to our funders Wellbeing of Women and Reckitt, to the incredible Hazel Mead for bringing this vision to life, and to Elsie for the networking magic that put Hazel and I in the right place at the right time."
Starting from scratch every time a project ends
One month you're swamped, the next it's silent, and you're pricing from panic instead of worth.
Losing the humanity in the most human work
You use AI to strengthen your CV, companies use AI to sift through CVs, and somehow humans are barely involved in (arguably) the most human-centric sector there is.
Networking (that isn't actually networking)
You get dressed up, travel across town, and spend a fortune on event tickets, all to be spoken at for hours. Maybe, if you're lucky, you get 30 minutes with the room of like-minded people.
Learning designed for someone else
Most business advice comes from people who've never worked in a sector like ours, so you're left contorting generic courses to fit.
Take a peek at the platform.
COMMITTED WORKS WHEN YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO SHOW UP.
You're ready to commit if…
✓You work in female or sexual health and you're done doing it in isolation.
✓You're ready to build your business differently.
✓You're ready to (really) show up: reply to intros, drop into a thread, RSVP to a call.
✓You'd rather build 3 connections that last years than 50 shallow ones.
It might not be the right fit if…
–You're after a job board to dip into now and then, and that's all you need.
–You prefer to work heads-down and low-touch, without the back-and-forth of a community.
–You need work like... tomorrow, and are hoping for instant results. We're all about the slow burn over here.

One collaboration or contract pays for the whole year.
That's under 50p a day.

Let's be honest.
The hesitations we hear most.
Elsie has been called a “warm hug” of a community. You don't need a particular job title or career path to belong here. If your work or interests connect broadly to female and sexual health, you're welcome.
Elsie is an investment in your career. Like a Canva subscription or a conference ticket, it's a tool to help you build a career that earns far more than the membership costs.
With love. You're looking at it backwards. Networking is what makes the work steady. The relationships you build now are the ones to lean on when your next gap in work comes.
Honestly, no one can. But we’ve seen members who show up land collabs and contracts. Elsie rewards participation, not passivity.
You don't need to show up to everything to get value from Elsie. Spend 15 minutes browsing new member introductions or come to a workshop when you can. Small things will take you far.
We don't buy into scarcity. Members passing work to each other is one of the biggest ways people get work through Elsie. Being surrounded by people who understand what you do creates more opportunities, not fewer.
Cohort starts November 2nd. Just 25 spots. Join the waitlist to save £40.
FAQs
Is Elsie just for women in the UK?
Not even close! Our members span 15+ countries and include people of all genders. We believe the female and sexual health sector should welcome everyone who wants to work within it.
What do you mean by “female and sexual healthcare”?
We use the terms female and sexual healthcare very broadly. That could mean contraception, abortion care, fertility, menopause, maternal health, sexual wellbeing, sex education, domestic violence prevention and reproductive rights, just to name a few.
We’re not looking to create an echo chamber of people doing exactly the same work. That’s why we’re obsessed with how these areas intersect with other fields and topics. We have members exploring cancer care and sexual confidence, menstrual care and sustainability, and plenty more.
If what you do even touches one of these areas, you’re welcome here.
Do I need to be a freelancer to join?
Not anymore! Elsie started out freelancer-specific, but we've grown alongside our members. Today, you'll find researchers, coaches, translators, writers and more, working for themselves, for organisations or somewhere between roles.
Should I wait until I'm "ready" to join?
Transition is the single biggest thing Elsie members have in common. Some are fresh out of university, others are pivoting later in their careers, between roles, or simply wondering what comes next.
You don't need to have your next move figured out before you join. Elsie can be part of how you figure it out.
What does it actually look like to be an Elsie member?
There's always lots going on!
Daily: Join the chats and browse what's happening across the platform.
Weekly: Explore 30–50 new opportunities and drop into our member check-in.
Monthly: Join a sector-specific workshop and co-working session.
Quarterly: Alternate between group sprints, journalling workshops and online mixers.
You don't need to do it all! Shape your participation around your time and your needs.
Why can't I join for just one month?
We know that a month just isn't long enough to get real value from Elsie. By the time you've settled into the platform, explored the workshops and joined a check-in or two, your month is up.
Relationships that lead to opportunities, referrals and friendships take more than a month to build. That's why our shortest membership is three months.
